eMail will be dead soon.

Such is the power of Contextual collaboration that it aims to kill
eMail and other discussion/communication methods in the virtual world.

Context has been a big issue when it comes to collaboration. there are
a lot of tools in this world that serve as groupware systems, document
management systems, eMails, discussion groups, content management
systems etc., BUT none of the tools provide context. If i converse
with eMail through one application then i need to start the same
discussion or conversation in a discussion forum, then i need to start
fresh some application to share file in supporting the conversation
and likewise. EVEN in groupware the best that they do is club the
disparate technologies and put it under one platform - EVEN WHERE the
user has to open up so many windows to access different
functionalities in different windows

CONTEXT IS KILLED IN GROUPWARE

I request a group of critics to give me their consent so that i can
Invite them to a launch event conducted by me for a novel collaboraion
portal that is being launched. this portal aims to really bring a
change in the way people collaborate will be released to the entire
net community.

I strongly feel that our collaboration space is what is termed by
Harvard - INNOSIGHT as disruptive innovation.

I request you to give your consent by sending a blank eMail IDs to
***@yahoo.com or put a message up to this thread. so that i can
send personalized invitation to the virtual event - the event is on it
is on the september 4th and 5 th.

Nice toughts. I'm in the quest of THE solution of this matter for
years..... and you have the Key to resolve it at last? Or are you
(also) in the quest...... I thinks this is the case.

Some notes:

To avoid opening multiples Windows and applications, what is the way?
To reduce all the options a only one Window, one framework, it's
almost impossible. OneNote from Microsfot is a useful tool to take
notes, include graphs, pics, write with a pen, etc. but it lacks
connectivity (fast) with a bunch of information sources. You must use
Cut & Paste frequently. Infopath lacks the same... too technical for
no-techs and too form oriented....

CRM software is lacking the same way.... Too many info to be
consolidated, grouped together....

And group context will have anotherr issue. Users with no group-mind
could destroy or edit info from others (ala Wiki way) and... who
cares?

Auditors, again, will be a must in this platform....

And all of this is only a pair of thoughts, of course. My own research
about this subject and how to make a Knowledge Management the right
way is not an easy task, neither has a ONE answer for all the needs.
Each group has several needs other don't. A general solution could be
impossible, or too cumbersome to put it to work.... (SAP comes to my
mind, e.g.).

I'll be glad to discus this issue here, and perhaps we could think
about not to use Usenet has a discussion board for this subject. Why
not? Why use another platform? A web based forum? Why? Is not this
group enough? Is just waht you are talking about.... not using several
tools, windows, apps to do a simple thing: talk! :-)
