Hi,

(Ok, might be OT on cola, just ignore/set Fup/drop cola when posting/...
if you think it is).

(Certainly was beaten to death before. Pointers to FAQs, articles,
comparisons, ... welcome if thewy're not from 1988 or earlier ;-)

We're currently a small everybody-has-his-laptop shop, and we will
certainly switch to a proper server-based architecture soon-ish.

Clients will be Windows in the beginning, but I'll try to move to Linux.
Servers will be Linux.

I know that there are several open source groupware solutions, and
probably several dozens commercial ones, too. The big question is, of
course, which ones can be seriously used?

- small-ish company: ~20 people
- most users will not know what 'C:\>' or 'avbidder:~$' are supposed to
mean.
- server runs on Linux
- clients: multiplatform. In the beginning, outlook integration would
be nice. Dito, on the Linux side: Kontact or evo integration would be
nice. (Hmm. Aren't the Mozilla folks also doing a calendar
front-end?)
- OSS software preferred, but it's more important that it works.

Security is quite important. Is there any solutions with full ACL
support on appointments and also on address book entries?

How about: integration with CRM and/or document management?

Thanks in advance.

It's already in use with this number of users or so, and is really
simple to use (or at least it aims to ;))

And it's published in LGPL.

Hi

I am testing out http://www.egroupware.org/ - not got to the bottom of
sync'ing yet. [We are two people - one linux, the other Win98 - we run our
own webserver on which to place the diary] It accepts the iCal
calendar/diary format which requires a manual export thingy from Outlook
though.

Have a look and please post here again if you do find something useful. I
would love to know your thoughts.
