We need to instal open source groupware that can provide us certain
features

1-project managment
2-task tracking
3-create collaborative groups for different development teams
4-creating different group for each client

the hard part is we need to creat separate groups where a member of one
is not supposed to know of a member in the other group, so each group
should have its forums, calenders, file manager, etc.

have looked at egroupware and more.groupware as well as phprojekt but
not sure which of them that can provide us with these functions

Thanks for the help

I looked at it and looked great
2 drawbacks in it
it is more effecient if hosted in house which is not the case for me
installation requirments are not the very easy type

as from searching people opinions about it, it is very good

Hi. Have you checked out bf.collaboration? We use it for the things
you mentioned, and for the configured document repository, and we're
extremely pleased with it.

Look sfine but...
It is not free open source
ASP which is not what we prefer
Not as easy to integrate with Linux running desktops which is what we
use

We settled for egroupware for many reasons one of them is the
integration and syncronization tools and its compatibility with many of
the KDE applications
Another one being tested is Kolab and seems to be very good yet is not
to run on a hosted environment so we are looking to install it on our
in house server and syncronize it with our remote one

Will update on the topic once progress on that issue

kind regards
Gonzalo

How well has the KDE sync worked out for you and how did you go about it?

I ask because I sometimes get double entries when atttempting to sync
against egroupware. I'd love to discuss with other people that are
attempting to do this.

In my experience, multiple entries usually come from timezone differences -
you must check the time configuration.
