For anyone who is interested there is a FREE issue, bug, defect, task tracking
service for software developers, project managers and others involved in the
software process.

http://www.projxpert.com/

Using ProjXpert you arbitrate features, resources and time to ensure each
iteration your team stays focused. Project attributes are highly configurable.
Project manage or particate as a team member in as many projects as you want
with the one username.

Scott.

Thanks Vincent for the sites, the major differences between those
systems and projxpert are that:

o) you have to download and install these tools yourself
o) they have to be installed on an internet facing server if you want
to have people separated geographically using the same system

And the problem with that is...?

See, with your system, you are severely limited in what you can
do to customize the system to your individual needs. I have successfully
deployed Mantis, in a customized fashion for many clients who wanted
something as powerful, flexible, and OPEN as Mantis is. Having a nice
working relationship with the upstream developers helps quite a bit. I run
Mantis in production on SourceFubar.Net, for lots of projects, and I
haven't had one single complaint yet.

I tested 27 bug/defect/issue management and control systems before
settling on Mantis. The second-runner-up was a product called Round-Up.
The only reason I chose Mantis, was because it was 1.) PHP (a language
originally written by a friend of mine), and 2.) MySQL-backed.

YMMV, of course.

Incidentally, anyone interested in setting up a project in our system
can contact me directly.
